Hey Everyone, this has got to be one of my best Fashion Finds yet! It’s true that I’ve been doing a lot of shopping, and as you know I’m trying to find items to take with me to the Caribbean. Living in Vancouver BC pretty much means that your wardrobe is full of sweaters, and clothing that will keep you warm, or at least dry on rainy days. To say the least my summer wardrobe has been lacking. I’ve been stocking up on loose, basics tee’s, cute colourful dresses, and leggings, shorts, rompers etc- just Anything that will keep me cool and comfy for when I’m there. Hey Everyone! Living in Canada, particularly British Columbia means that you’ll seldom find deals on designer goods. It takes a lot of hard work, sifting and yes, dedication to find something worthy enough to bring home that has that great price, quality and designer label. A while ago I found a Hugo Boss tweed blazer on sale from Holt Renfrew. The original price was listed at $700, and the sale price brought the blazer down to $100. Let me stress that I remember back in the day when I was like 11 Holt Renfrew never had deals, or sales as good as the ones they’ve been having in recent years (visit Holt Renfrew during their sales and you might find something you’ll fall in love with with the right price). Hey Everyone! It’s time for another Honest Thoughts post since my last one about Caroline Stanbury being my favourite Bitch grabbed your attention. Now before any of you scowl and tell me that I’m being bitchy, hateful, negative etc towards H&M lovers, let me just say that I have a love and hate relationship with H&M. It’s true that I own items from the infamous clothing chain that I absolutely love, and I often frequent the local H&Ms in my area. But guess what H&M just like any store that has mass produced clothing, sucks. I’m not telling you to avoid H&M, that’s far from the truth, however I do want you to be smarter shoppers from time to time..it’s my new initiative as a Fashion Blogger for 2016. Privet Everyone! It’s finally spring time which means the flowers will begin blooming, and there will be new styles to obsess over. To celebrate spring I’m thinking that this show I saw at Vancouver Fashion Week suits the new season perfectly. Elina Ten’s Eco Couture Collection is all about florals. The clothing reminded me of a fantasy world, where the outfits would be seen on women attending a debutante afternoon tea party. Can you imagine those tea parties during the Edwardian and Gilded age? And the scandals women would discuss? These days it would be all about booty size. Continue reading “Elina Ten’s Eco Couture ‘ INsideOUT UPsideDOWN.’ At VFW 2016”
Hey Everyone I hope you’re enjoying all of the Vancouver Fashion Week collections that I’ve been adding! I know I took a lot of photos, and I still have quite a few more runway collections to show you. Today this VFW 2016 edition post is about Danya Weevers collection “The Power Of Women”. Danya Weever’s is a fashion designer from the Netherlands, who was inspired by her internships at Elsien Gringhuis and Dennis Diem. Her collections are often presented twice a year online, and this year at Vancouver Fashion Week. Danya’s designs can be described as minimalistic, while she acquires further inspiration from the human being- of their purity, or vulnerability…she’s even encouraged women to write in a diary and expose who they are on the inside to her, this is just one of the many ways Danya proves to be a Designer who wants her clothing to reflect who we are. Happy Trending Tuesday! Today I’m introducing to you a trend that is making a triumphant return from the 90’s. Some might say it’s making a cool style refresh comeback, while others will be sharing the exact same thought as Zaychishka, it’s hiiideeeousss burn it with fire. What’s this trend I’m speaking of? It’s the Flatform! Flatforms can only be described as being something that a designer whipped up while drunk one night with Elmers glue in hand, and glued a pair of flats onto platforms. I’m also sure this alleged designer laughed to themselves and said “YES, I can make ugly things and people will buy this and they’ll tell all their friends it’s all the rage this season” Way to go whoever you are, you did it. Flatforms are back. Continue reading “Trending Tuesday: The Flatform *90’s Style Returns*”
Hey lovelies, I hope you’re enjoying your day so far! So everyone knows that it’s not fashion week without alcoholic beverages right? Privet Matryoshkas! I decided to do some quickstyle Instagram browsing tonight and I just had to check out what’s going on in Elena Perminova’s fashionable world. I feel like her IG pictures have really made up for her Fashion Week Style that in my opinion channeled the 90’s fused with the Matrix Reloaded- and fairytales? Now let’s talk about her incredible bow and pearl earrings. I have no idea who makes them, but I’m definitely swooning at the sight of them. I’m also loving the look she’s pulling off in her black, form fitted dress,- it reminds me of Olga Seryabkina in the Serebro music video for Gun; which I’ve included below! (Olga is one of the singers from my favourite overtly sexual Russian trio, pop groups Serebro) Continue reading “Elena Perminova’s New Earrings”
Hey Everyone! I hope you have all been well and that you can’t wait to see what the designers at VFW 2016 were dazzling audiences with. Some of you might know that I’ve been anticipating Noe Bernacelli’s show this season! He is a Peruvian designer who studied in Italy. I’m currently working on close to 17 posts that will be featuring the designers who showcased their collections at Vancouver Fashion Week this season, and who’s shows I attended. I also couldn’t resist putting up this post about Noe’s collection because I’ve been so excited to share what I got to see last week, with all of you.
I became an instant fan of his designs at VFW F/W 2015 when I saw his floor length evening gowns that were sheer in all the right places. I felt as though he was channeling Elie Saab, and to see gowns with an incredible amount of detail in person, stole my breath away. This season Noe Bernacelli didn’t disappoint (although I miss seeing those evening gowns), with his 7.2.7 collection that lead him in a new direction that can be described as modern, while embodying the daring female spirit. Hey Everyone, I hope your week has been off to a great start! Today I’m putting up a new Trending Tuesday post, this time it’s about the kimono jacket trend that’s been popping up everywhere. A lot of designers from Anna Sui, Delpozo to DKNY have been rolling out their renditions of the Kimono. I’ll admit that kimonos aren’t always the easiest item to work into an outfit, but once you do they can be worth it. I hope this short & sweet post can inspire ! In addition I’ve selected my favourite kimono-esque jackets out there that I found to be unique, with my favourite being by the Spanish label Delpozo.
