OOTD: Draped Coats Always Provide Effortless Style

OOTD: Draped Coats Always Provide Effortless Style

Hello Lovelies, and fellow Matryoshkas! Style is one of the things that we are often working towards perfecting.  Style is not always easy because it can be so overwhelming with all the latest trends. Who doesn’t enjoy having a well-thought-out look to step outside in? Although now, our looks are more on the athleisure side since we only have the grocery store or the occasional zoom call to dress up for. Over the years my style has evolved, and nowadays I often gravitate towards items that have a clean and streamlined look. I choose far more pieces that are devoid of too much detail solely because they are versatile and complete multiple outfit choices.

Reviewing the Ugg Keely Boots (Similar to the Bailey Button, but for less!)

Reviewing the Ugg Keely Boots (Similar to the Bailey Button, but for less!)

When Uggs became popular in North America in the mid 2000’s every store had its own knock-off version. My mom ended up buying me a knock off pair from Sears outlet because I begged her. At the time I had not even seen a real pair of Uggs in person, you would have to go Downtown Vancouver on Robson street or so to buy the authentic ones if they were not sold out. But, somehow with my little knowledge of what the actual boot should or even would look like I happily wore my knockoffs to school. As a teen, I would often pair these ‘Uggs’ with a skirt and wear this as a staple look for one entire summer, which was how long they held up. Those boots did not last at all, and my mom had to throw them away. After that, my desire for Uggs faded away and in came other fads for me to squander my one-day-a-week job after-school earnings on.

Are Sorel’s Caribou Boots Good ?

Are Sorel’s Caribou Boots Good ?

I have been a west coaster for the majority of my life as I’m originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Would it surprise you if I said I come from an area that sees more rainy days than snowy ones? However, last year the GVRD actually accumulated enough snow to make me reconsider my winter boot game. My favourite pair of boots from Roots had seen better days, and being a dog-mom to a high energy ‘coconut retriever’ named Bear (who needs lengthy walkies) I began my search for new winter boots.

Zaychishka 2.0

Zaychishka 2.0

Hello Lovelies, or should I be saying Matryoshkas, it’s been a while and I must apologize for my lengthy hiatus . The Zaychishka blog was, and still is a great source of pride for me and I just couldn’t forget about it even after years (yes you read that right) of no longer posting or maintaining it’s website. I’ve had a lot of interesting life updates, and have recently moved again for the 5th or maybe it’s the 6th time! My last move had me living in Manhattan, New York; and now I’m living in Pennsylvania, and it feels soo good to no longer be living that luggage lifestyle- more on that later!

Meet Our Newly Adopted Puppy!

Meet Our Newly Adopted Puppy!

Hello Lovelies, how have all of you been lately? As some of you might know by now from my instagram photos, my Fiance and I have adopted a puppy! Our puppy has been keeping my hands full with training, playtime and the dreaded cleanup of toys and crumbs from kibble. But before I go on and on, let me bring this story all the way back to the beginning. I have a dog back home in Canada who I adopted from the States, and currently lives with my parents- and may I add, is spoiled rotten. I had no intentions of adopting a dog, or thinking of caring for, or training a puppy while staying in the Caribbean. It was not something I thought I would do anytime soon with my Fiance. But one day a few of my friends took me down to SXM Paws to walk the dogs and puppies in the shelter, and I ended up walking a puppy (however this puppy was not the one we would adopt). I’m not sure what happened but I became obsessed with ‘puppies’ I had puppy fever, constantly looking through the photos of all the puppies SXM Paws had up for adoption and foster. Hey Lovelies! Just An Update From The Caribbean With Love.

Hey Lovelies! Just An Update From The Caribbean With Love.

Hey Everyone! Greetings from the Caribbean and the ‘Friendly Island’ if you know where that motto’s from then you definitely will be able to guess the island I’m currently residing on. I have started to settle into life here, and I just want to first talk about avocados, because I finally ate the one I bought at Cost-U-Less with one of my new friends (who took me grocery shopping, and is showing me how this island works). I had no idea that there’s different species of avocados, I just thought all avocados looked the same, tiny-medium in size, with a bumpy surface and roundness to them. Well I definitely learned something new, the avocados I can get in the Caribbean are HUGE, green, with a smooth surface, have a sweet taste, and you can tell they have a far greater water content when you devour them. They are a little watery, but you know what Imma make guacamole outta them sometime and let you know how that works out..with like a pound of sour cream. Continue reading “Hey Lovelies! My Experience With Purple Shampoo Drugstore VS Salon Quality

My Experience With Purple Shampoo Drugstore VS Salon Quality

Hey Everyone! I never knew purple shampoos existed until I began seeing articles, and vloggers discussing the perils of having blonde hair turn brassy. Well being a brunette made me ignore a lot of those articles, and video blogs up until I had my hair dyed ‘balayage’. My hair became significantly lighter, and blonder (that my family began calling me ‘blondie’.. Continue reading “My Experience With Purple Shampoo Drugstore VS Salon Quality”

Fashion Find: Chic For Cheap Elie Tahari Blazer (You’ll Never Guess The Price)

Hey Everyone, this has got to be one of my best Fashion Finds yet! It’s true that I’ve been doing a lot of shopping, and as you know I’m trying to find items to take with me to the Caribbean. Living in Vancouver BC pretty much means that your wardrobe is full of sweaters, and clothing that will keep you warm, or at least dry on rainy days. To say the least my summer wardrobe has been lacking. I’ve been stocking up on loose, basics tee’s, cute colourful dresses, and leggings, shorts, rompers etc- just Anything that will keep me cool and comfy for when I’m there.  Continue reading “Fashion Find: Chic For Cheap Elie Tahari Blazer (You’ll Never Guess The Price)”

Fashion Find: $15 Maxi Dress

Hey Everyone! What I love about this time of year is that summer clothing starts to go on sale, that’s right the summer hasn’t ended..but you can snag some gorgeous pieces for enticing prices. Today I decided to venture off to Homesense/ Winners. Canadians know the deal with this place, but if you’re unfamiliar with Homesense & Winners..think of it like a Marshalls, or TJ Max (which it’s under the TJ Max group). Anyways I love to go to this store for my face washes, and moisturizers because sometimes if you look extra hard you can walk away with great products, for cheap. I’m stocking up on items for the Caribbean so this is the place to go. Now, I spotted a long, white Maxi dress with some embroidered detail, and guess what it happened to be on sale for $15, from $50. The dress is by the brand Japna, and is handmade in India. Hey Everyone! Happy Tuesday, this is not a trending Tuesday post, I promise I’ll get back to making more of those shortly.
