A 3.1 Phillip Lim Kitten Heel Review

A 3.1 Phillip Lim Kitten Heel Review

Privet! I may be addicted to shoes…at the moment, but with all of the recent sales I doubt many could resist the temptation to hoard all the shoes in existence. I must admit that I never paid much attention to Phillip Lim’s designer wear, until my new 3.1 Phillip Lim heels came home with me. These kitten heels have an understated, youthful elegance that seem to work with both casual and dressier outfits; Which I found out after trying on the shoes with various items in my closet i.e shift dresses, my favourite pair of Roots grey leggings, pencil skirts, and a certain H&M romper! And these shoes seems to be so comfortable, and did I mention they were on sale! Anyways I am adoring these pumps so much at the moment that I’ve decided to review them: Continue reading “A 3.1 Phillip Lim Kitten Heel Review”

Part 3: Vancouver Fashion Week Backstage

Part 3: Vancouver Fashion Week Backstage

Privet Matryoshkas! This is the last post about VFW for the fall/winter 2015 showcase! This post is all about covering behind the scenes, to show you a glimpse of what it looks like behind the runway. Expect to see shoes laying everywhere, and racks of clothing just waiting to be worn by the models before the audience sees. Backstage is also the place where you can talk to the designers, and watch how they prepare for their runway debuts.

Part 2: Vancouver Fashion Week Guests & Gifts

Privet lovely Matryoshkas, are you ready for part 2 of VFW? As you know it cannot be a true fashion week without seeing at least some of the attending guests outfits. So in short this post is dedicated to the guests and also to the giveaways/ freebies. The event was sponsored by My Skye Berry Pie and they gave out gifts throughout the week. I got a cute little gift box from them that included a pineapple bath bomb, a vegan lipgloss, chapstick, gift certificates and discounts to local shops. So that kind of was nice to receive! Anyways as some of you may know my best friend came with me to two consecutive days at VFW pretending to be my “assistant” haha, and my boyfriend attended the event with me also on two seperate occassions and he posed as my “photographer”. So for when me and my best friend went it felt like a girls night mixed with a fashion night out vibe, we dressed up and on we went to enjoy this rare Vancouver event. Rebecca Minkoff Signs Handbags!!

Rebecca Minkoff Signs Handbags!!

Privet Matryoshkas! Earlier today I ended up Downtown Vancouver, and had spent the day shopping with my mom yet again. Coincidently we ran into an event where Rebecca Minkoff showed up at Holt Renfrew to sign handbags and purses. Since she is from New York, Holt Renfrew set up a NYC  like theme in the lower half of the department store. For any of you who don’t know what Holt Renfrew it’s similar to Neiman Marcus, or Austria’s famed Steffl located in Vienna. Anyways there was a taxi cab image on the wall, and free soda and pretzels were being handed out to waiting Minkoff fans.

Privet!! Ah Matryoshkas I don’t even know where to begin, other than to tell you that I’ve had my first fashion week experience! I attended the event with a media pass which gave me access to some of the best seats (although me and my best friend had to hustle to get them, but the media pass let us keep them!!), and backstage access to see behind the scenes. My Media pass came from Wall Street International (who I write for once a month for the fashion section and my VFW article will be published on April 1st so check that out if you want to) I’m thankful to WSI and to Milica Mirkovic (my past editor & If you are reading this Thank you!!) Anyways before I find some way to go off topic, I ended up sitting through 23 shows at Vancouver Fashion Week, and my camera and phone are full of photos! I’ve decided to split my VFW experience into parts to make things less messy, and a lot more organized so I hope you guys will enjoy the upcoming posts. Today’s post will be about some of the memorable shows, with a mini bio of each designer, links and brief description. I also must apologize to you guys since there were no Russian or Ukrainian fashion designers at VFW! But one of the fashion designers, Atsushi Nakashima named his collection after the famous Russian satellite Sputnik,– I love the Russian influence 🙂

Armani Collezioni & Pink Champagne

Armani Collezioni & Pink Champagne

armmm

The Room, October 18th, 2014.I was fashionably late, and being lead past a concierge desk concealed by a wall. A wall I have walked past countless times when wanting to take a look at the latest eccentric pieces from Moschino. I was bemused when I thought of how I never suspected another room to lay past where I was now being taken. I remember waking up that morning debating if I should, or should not attend the event I was invited to a few days prior. But, there I was late, and walking into an intimate and surreal setting (taking personal shopping to a new level for me). Less than 30 guests were in attendance (all women), sitting and whispering in hushed tones as a model walked around wearing pieces from Armani Collezioni’s Fall-Winter 2014/15 line. I was told I could sit anywhere, and I hurriedly found a seat for myself in the second row. Nearly as soon as I was settled into my seat I was asked if I would like ‘pink champagne, tea, coffee, wine or sparkling water’ I declined for the moment being. Intently I watched the models demonstrating the versatility of Armani’s collection, from well tailored pants, to jackets that could almost double as sweaters- that’s just how comfortable they are. (At this event I sat down with the Director of the Hudson’s Bay Company to talk Armani. + I took pictures, and even a small video for you guys to check out) Continue reading “Armani Collezioni & Pink Champagne”

Zaychishka’s Alexander Wang Prisma Emile Tote Review

Zaychishka’s Alexander Wang Prisma Emile Tote Review

Privet Matryoshka’s!! During my shopping trip I decided that it’s time for me to do another review on a designer piece. My lucky victim turned out to be an Alexander Wang tote. I know some of you may not be familiar with this designer, but if you are then you’re probably anticipating to get your hands on one of his collaborative pieces for H&M. Anyways the tote that became my victim is Alexander Wang’s Prisma Emile Tote in black. In the photo you can see me holding the Alexander Wang tote, and yes I’m actually wearing a navy trench coat, grey leggings, and my favourite pair of shopping walking  boots. This is one of my essential looks for fall. But this isn’t about me it’s really about the tote. Now to discuss the good and the bad to this luxe bag & more photos of it (clear front and side view).

Interview With Lana Siberie’s Iulia Filipovscaia ‘Clothes Are Another Way Of Communication’

I woke up one morning to find a message in my inbox, it was 7:30am when I read what it contained, making me jump out of bed to gather my notes. That preparation still did not save me from my nerves that were mixed with excitement. I was excited, (and still am) to be able to interview the Russian Fashion Designer and Artist; Iulia Filipovscaia who created the brand LANA SIBERIE. She makes custom made pieces, and has made sweaters for the Russian supermodel Natalia Vodinova and her charity Naked Heart.

Zaychishka’s Interview With The Fashion Designer Anna Pitchouguina “She Is A Dreamer, Definitely A Dreamer”

Youthfulness, simple shapes, and awkward moments come to life in Anna Pitchouguina’s collections that have been gaining popularity since the launch of her brand in August 2013. The Russian Fashion Designer who was raised in Poland gets most of her inspiration from everyday moments, moods and scenes. In her latest Autumn-Winter 2014/15 collection melancholy adorns each garment. Think of lone foot steps in the snow, and trees mourning over the loss of their leaves; A haunting image straight out of the Picturesque Russian landscape in the dead of winter. Recently Anna Pitchouguina let me ask her a few questions, where she discussed what it was like behind the scenes at this years Aurora Fashion Week ( for her, and her team), to her love of fabrics, and of course why she is so drawn towards everything awkward, and how it became a leading muse for the Pitchouguina brand. The Interview is included below. Continue reading “Zaychishka’s Interview With The Fashion Designer Anna Pitchouguina “She Is A Dreamer, Definitely A Dreamer””
