Hey Lovelies! Currently I’m swooning over all of the wedding dresses from the designer Monique Lhuillier. I’ve watched countless episodes of ‘Say Yes To The Dress’, Four Weddings (American and Canadian versions) Beverly Hills Bridal shows, etc etc, and I’ve seen so many dresses from different designers that I know this will be a hard decision in the end. It will never be a question of which dress is better, but of how I will be able to walk away with just one dressΒ when there’s so many beautiful styles floating around. I know that I’m sick of Pnina Tournai, and even Lazzaro thanks to Say Yes To The Dress’s over-exposure..it’s comparable to the Anne Hatheway effect that made some dislike the actress for just being on their television screens a little too often.Β
That being said, currently I’ve found myself favouring dresses from Monique Lhuillier’s bridal collection. The dresses have the right amount of sparkle, lace and materials that I envision to have that movement. When my cousin was married in August, there’s one moment I always remember of her in her wedding dress and that was when she was dancing her dress had no movement…it was stiff as a board. And, when it comes to clothing and yes wedding dresses! I don’t only want a dress to look beautiful, impress my FiancΓ©, or translate well to photographs, but I want it to have movement so that when I walk the dress won’t look lifeless, or dull. It will look ethereal, and light..and you will be able to see the grandeur of the details- from the sparkle of the beads, or the flow of the fabric rustling at your feet as you walk down the aisle. That’s what adds to dresses, and sets the good ones apart from the ones that are lacklustre.
I want to go dress shopping with you!!!!!

Nah don’t worry girl….funny story ..I was about to. I was going to design a wedding collection and had a appointment at klienfelds. I cancelled it because I decided not to do wedding wear…I only tried on thrift wedding dresses. What about you Madame bride? Have you tried on anything yet? π

Were you going to sell some designs to them? And you are so close to Kleinfield’s and you are so lucky for that (although the bay has some connection with them..it’s not the same as the New York site). I’ve only tried on one that came in a bulk auction lot of dresses my parents purchased… it’s hideous and had some crazy puffed sleeves! :P..but I haven’t tried on anything pretty as of yet.
