What I Wore To Vancouver Fashion Week’s Gala

Hey Everyone! I’ve decided to post one of the looks that I wore to Vancouver Fashion Week’s Gala. I found the dress and gold leaf headband online from The Hudson’s Bay Company, The dress is by Free People, the headband by Expression. I also paired the look with my white faux fur vest by Design Lab X Lord & Taylor. I actually thought I was going to wear the shoes that I re-purposed, but decided to go with my Valentino rockstud heels instead. The look was put together with items of various price ranges (prices included). #OOTD

The dress caught my eye with it’s caged top. The beadwork and sequins is gorgeous in person…but what I love most about this dress is that it has a roaring 20’s vibe, and when I wore it with my faux fur vest and headband it also had that bohemian feel that Free People is known for. I picked the dress up on sale. Regular price $345, on Sale $172

These are my favourite of the special occasion shoes that I own. They’re comfortable, light, and well…what girl can resist Valentino? I won’t put the price for these up πŸ™‚

A closer look of the beads and sequins on the dress

The gold leaf headband is by Expression and I ordered it online from The Hudson Bay Company (aka The Bay), for $12.

The vest is by Design Lab x Lord & Taylor, Regular price $100, and bought it on sale for $30.

    1. Hahah, Thank you Ret! I would have taken a photo with the entire outfit on myself, but somehow I managed to grab & drink too much white wine during the Gala and forgot to get the boyfriend to snap a few photos of the look all together. Ahhgh lol..

    1. Haha, awwh you’re too funny and sweet with how you said that:)

      I loved wearing the outfit,
the dress was gorgeous..with it’s vintage and bohemian vibes (my go to style isn’t boho in any way)
and I thought the vest would add that extra drama, while the headband- at Vancouver Fashion Week headpieces are as common as fascinators at high society British weddings.lol, I felt like I fit in and stood out all at once ! (no one had my dress either which is something you often worry about)
But of course when you find a good dress, you feel sexy, feminine, and elegant at the same time.
And the same goes for when you pair an outfit for yourself..and stand back to look at yourself in the mirror and to know “This is it”

Actually as soon as I walked in to pick up my press pass, the VFW style team complimented me, and my shoes racked up compliments..and photographers snapped my photo – my photos are out there somewhere.
+ Lots on others instagrams for the Saturday show, and VFW was shooting a commercial (don’t know when that will be, but I’m in it lol!!)- it was too funny my best friend and I were looking on instagram for candid shots with us in them.

      1. Thank you. Love when you feel great and different! Well done. XO
PS. I got that blue leather fringe dress (Altuzarra) – it’s fabulous. M loved it. Steep discount bc it needed some repairs, but NYC has options for leather repair.
