Privet Matryoshka’s capes are picking up popularity this season! It wasn’t too long ago that we first spotted Chloé capes on Elena Perminova and Anya Ziourova, and now there’s Burberry’s blanket, poncho, ahem– cape that is turning heads, & showing up on celebs and it girls alike. The point is capes are in for fall, and I’m dedicating this post to those who I’m calling the Caped Crusaders. I’m hoping to shake the image of Little Red Riding Hood out of your minds, for falls days when the weather doesn’t exactly call for a coat.
Capes come in various lengths and styles, think of the words: tailored, blanket, and knee length. Capes are fun because you can wear them out for casual days as they are denim and skinny jean friendly. But if you are like me at the moment who wants to avoid denim, throw on a pair of leggings or panty hose (I’m loving the panty hose by House Of Holland, or Pretty Polly or the collaboration of the two, because of their unique designs) and throw on a pair of boots; knee length or ankle, which ever you prefer. And my last point to show how the coats cousin is versatile, well Capes can give off the look of being in the countryside, to adding that heroic element to ones style. Lastly capes can be a chic throwback to the past. And well, if you happen to own Burberry’s rendition of the cape this season you can pretend you never left the warmth and comfort of your bed,- as you now have an excuse for toting around a cozy blanket, without the odd looks from passers by.
Anyways enjoy the Russian it girls ahemm Caped Crusaders looks.
I think I’m jealous that both Elena Perminova and Miroslava Duma have the Burberry blankets, with their monogrammed initials- as well as everyone else from the likes of Olivia Palermo to Rosie Huntington Whiteley. Lucky them, it looks soo cozy to wear
