Have you ever been caught by a love so unexpected that it simply bewitched you? A love so passionate you couldn’t breathe as a result of it infiltrating your mind and soul? I think my latest unexpected love crept up and out of nowhere. It appeared slowly, and dangerously with a vengeance that was almost as bad as my need for that Vika Gazinskaya sweater. Alas, this item of desire was not crafted by Vika, but by Russia’s one true regal street style queen, the talented Ulyana Sergeenko. The item of mention is actually a series of wooden purses depicting images straight out of a Russian folk & fairy-tale book..in so many impressive colours to match the mood of spring.
The purses were created for Ulyana Sergeenko’s Spring-Summer 2013 collection; when this very collection was shown off at paris fashion week, the catwalk was transformed into a setting that looked as if a fairy tale came to life, and models walked out of a massive book before strutting the cat walk in front of stunned eyes. What I love about each and every single one of these purses are that they are so adorable, and original. Take a look at the details, from the strap with it’s bows, to the painting on each box, and an added mirror on the inside. Plus don’t you think these could liven up any outfit? Or at least these could become a conversation starter at your next couture tea party. I want them all!
