What does Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty have in common? These famous ballets were composed by Russia’s own Pyor Tchaikovsky. Russia has been a great contributor to the arts, with unique ballet’s, and classical music. The pride of Russia.
This year viewers witnessed a cross-cultural event between Britain and Russia, where a Gala concert took place with the world ballet stars performing on Sochi’s Winter theatre stage. Fragments from fifteen of the best ballet acts dazzled audiences; with pieces from “The Talisman”, Grand Pas from “Don Quixote” pas de deux from “Swan Lake” pas de sklyav from the ballet “Le Corsaire”.
Note-worthy performers: Daniel Korsuntsev amazed audiences by performing an act from the Tolstoy classic War and Peace “The first ball of natasha”. And of course Russia’s Mariinsky theater’s Prima Ballerina Uylana Lopatkina took part in the most anticipated event in Sochi.
